Worship Schedule

  • Sunday, September 6: Last Sunday with one service at 9:30 am. Today's service includes Holy Communion. Pastor Harald Bringsjord will be preaching. Music led by Randy Lyden, Karl Greenfield, and Dave Osley. Readings include Ezekiel 33:7-11, Psalm 119:33-40, Romans 13:8-14, and Matthew 18:15-20.

  • Rally Sunday (Sept 13): Services return to normal times of 8:30 am and 10:30 am (Livestream at 8:30 am). Sunday School kicks off during the 8:30 am service with an inflatable obstacle course, games, and activities. Music led by Randy Lyden, Karl Greenfield, and Dave Osley. Readings include Genesis 50:15-21, Psalm 103:8-13, Romans 14:1-12, and Matthew 18:21-35. Communion will not be served.

Gather & Celebrate

  • Adult Reading Group: Meets the first Wednesday of the month from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm for friendship and book discussion. The next meeting is scheduled for October 7. Contact the church office for more details.

  • Family Game Night: All ages welcome to enjoy a mix of board and card games on September 11 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm in the Mattes Center.

  • Burrito Breakfast: Served between services on September 13 (starting at 9:30 am) in the Mattes Center while supplies last for a free-will offering.

  • Bunco Night: Join us September 18 at 6:00 pm in the Mattes Center. Open to ages 18 and up; bring a $5 wrapped "Fall" themed gift.

Groups, Support & Involvement

  • Meetings & Groups: Scouts Troop 22 and the Men's Group meet Sundays at 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm, respectively. WELCA next meets October 1 at 6:00 pm in the Quilting Room or via Zoom (call office for link).

  • Support & Community: Dementia Support Group meets September 8 at 1:15 pm, followed by Hillview Communion at 1:45 pm. Lydia Circle's next get-together is October 6 at 1:00 pm in the Quilt Room for conversation, coffee, and desserts. The Cancer Support Group holds its next gathering on September 15 at 5:00 pm in the Mattes Center.

  • Get Involved: Quilting for Lutheran World Relief (LWR) meets on the 2nd and 4th Mondays (next meeting Sept 14) from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

  • Donations: Help collect items for LWR School and Personal Care Kits (lists on Stewardship table; monetary donations accepted). Support the General Fund or this month's featured fund, the Food For Schools Project.

  • New Members: Fall 2026 New Member Orientation & Celebration upcoming; reach out to Sue at the church office (office@gslacrosse.org or 608-788-0450) to get connected.

Announcements & Registration

  • Labor Day: The church office will be closed on Monday, September 7.

  • Sunday School & Confirmation: Confirmation Orientation begins September 9 at 6:30 pm (register online or contact Brea). Sunday School begins September 13 during the 8:30 am service (register online or email breanna@gslacrosse.org).

  • Special Congregational Meeting: Called for Sunday, September 27, 2026, directly following a single 9:30 am worship service. The sole purpose is to vote on extending a formal Call to a candidate to become Senior Pastor. Voting must take place in person.

  • Sponsorships: Bulletins, Chancel flowers, and Pulpit flowers are all unsponsored for this week.
