National Neighborhood Night Out

Join Us for National Night Out!
National Night Out is a nationwide, annual event that strengthens the bond between law enforcement and the community while promoting neighborhood unity and safety. It’s a celebration of connection—bringing neighbors and public safety officials together in a fun, welcoming environment.
Each year, millions of people across all 50 states, U.S. territories, and military bases participate in National Night Out on the first Tuesday of August (with some areas in Texas celebrating in October). Communities host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts, and family-friendly activities that include safety demonstrations, youth games, emergency vehicle visits, and more.
This year, the City of La Crosse, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, and the Hintgen Neighborhood Association invite everyone from the south side of La Crosse and nearby neighborhoods to join the celebration at Good Shepherd on Tuesday, August 5, from 5:00–7:00 PM.
All are welcome! Enjoy food, games, and a chance to meet your neighbors. Representatives from the La Crosse Police Department, Fire Department, and other community organizations will be there to connect and celebrate with you.
Let’s come together to make our community stronger!

Sunday School: Unit 1 — The First Sin
The First Sin in the Garden
This Sunday, we’re launching a brand-new unit in Sunday School! Our first story focuses on the first sin in the Garden of Eden — when Adam and Eve chose their own way instead of trusting God’s.
Together, we’ll explore how sin entered the world, the consequences it brings, and God’s loving plan to redeem us. Through Bible stories, interactive activities, and rich conversation, children will learn about temptation, responsibility, and God’s unfailing grace — and how He makes us new.
All children from age 3 through 5th grade are warmly invited to be a part of this journey of faith!
Questions? Contact Brea Ellison, Director of Children’s Ministry, at breanna@gslacrosse.org.
