Worship Schedule

• Sunday, August 30: Worship takes place at 9:30 am. Today's service includes the baptism of Charlotte James Servais. Pastor Harald Bringsjord will be preaching. Music will be led by Randy Lyden, Karl Greenfield, and Dave Osley. Readings include Jeremiah 15:15-21, Psalm 26:1-8, Romans 12:9-21, and Matthew 16:21-28. Communion will not be served this Sunday.

• Next Sunday, September 6: Last Sunday with one service at 9:30 am. Pastor Harald Bringsjord will be preaching. Music led by Randy Lyden, Karl Greenfield, and Dave Osley. Readings include Ezekiel 33:7-11, Psalm 119:33-40, Romans 13:8-14, and Matthew 18:15-20. Communion will be served.

• Rally Sunday (Sept 13): Services return to normal times of 8:30 am and 10:30 am. Sunday School kicks off during the 8:30 am service with an inflatable obstacle course, games, and activities.

Gather & Celebrate

• Adult Reading Group: Read Waking Up White by Debby Irving before the September 2 meeting, which runs from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Six used copies are available in the office for $5 each. Additional copies available at Pearl Street Books ($10), free via La Crosse Public Library, or online.

• Bunco Night: Join us September 18 at 6:00 pm in the Mattes Center. Bring a $5 wrapped "Fall" themed gift for this event open to ages 18 and up.

• Family Game Night: Enjoy a mix of board and card games on September 11 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm in the Mattes Center.

• Burrito Breakfast: Served between services on September 13 in the Mattes Center while supplies last for a free-will offering.

Groups, Support & Involvement

• Meetings: Scouts Troop 22 and the Men's Group meet Sundays at 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm, respectively. Buildings and Grounds meets September 1 at 6:00 pm. WELCA meets September 3 at 6:00 pm in the Quilting Room or via Zoom (call office for link).

• Support & Community: Lydia Circle meets September 1 at 1:00 pm in the Quilt Room for conversation, coffee, and desserts. The Cancer Support Group holds its next gathering on September 15 at 5:00 pm in the Mattes Center. A funeral for Ruth Hauge will be held September 5 at 11:00 am (visitation at 10:00 am), with a luncheon following. Interested in joining? • Get Involved: LWR Bag Making meets August 31 at 9:00 am. Quilting for Lutheran World Relief meets on the 2nd and 4th Mondays (next meeting Sept 14) from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Media team volunteers are needed to run PowerPoint and cameras; contact Rick if interested.

• Donations: Support LWR School and Personal Care Kits (item lists on Stewardship table), the General Fund, or Food For Schools. Stock and Crypto giving is now available via Vanco on the church website.

Announcements & Registration

• Sunday School & Confirmation: Sunday School begins September 13 during the 8:30 am service; register online or email Brea Ellison. Confirmation begins September 9 at 6:30 pm; register online.

• Offering Update: July 2026 envelope offerings were $19,041.68 (-10.4% vs. July 2025). YTD 2026 total is $154,670.26 (-19.0% vs. 2025). Monthly average needed to meet budget is $29,167.

• Flowers: Bulletins are not sponsored. Chancel flowers are sponsored by Charlotte James Servais's grandparents in honor of her baptism. Pulpit flowers are sponsored by Kent and Sandra Rockwell celebrating their 60th Wedding Anniversary.

• Office Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.
