Worship
Sunday, June 21 — Fourth Sunday after Pentecost: Worship takes place at 9:30 AM. Pr. Harald Bringsjord will be preaching, and the service includes Holy Communion and the Oakley Mills Baptism. Music is led by Randy Lyden, Karl Greenfield, and Dave Osley. Readings include Jeremiah 20:7-13, Psalm 69:7-10, 16-18, Romans 6:1b-11, and Matthew 10:24-39.
Next Sunday, June 28: Worship will begin at 9:30 AM and will include the Halverson Baptisms. Pr. Dione Stepanek will be preaching. Communion will not be served. Readings include Jeremiah 28:5-9, Psalm 89:1-4, 15-18, Romans 6:12-23, and Matthew 10:40-42.
Summer Worship Schedule: We offer a 9:30 AM Worship Service and Livestream. Communion is celebrated on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month, and all are welcome. Communion kits are available from an usher for in-pew communion.
Gather & Celebrate
Bunco Night: Our next Bunco evening for adults is scheduled for Friday, July 17th at 6:00 PM in the Mattes Center. Bring a $5 wrapped gift with an "Anything Goes" theme and join us for laughter, games, and great company (ages 18 and up).
Synod Night at the Loggers: Join us on Sunday, July 12th at Copeland Park on the Toppers Party Deck. Tickets are $29 for adults, $16 for kids ages 4-12, and free for ages 3 and under (includes ballpark food, unlimited soft drinks, and 3 beers per adult over 21). Gates open at 4:00 PM; first pitch is at 5:05 PM. Register on the synod website or call (608) 788-5000.
Vacation Bible School 2026 (The Wild West): VBS is happening August 2nd–6th for children ages 4 through 5th grade. The event runs from 5:45 PM to 7:30 PM, with a free-will offering supper from 5:15 PM–5:45 PM. Please register on our website by June 30 at gslacrosse.org/vbs-2026.
Church Rummage Sale: Held on July 18 from 9:00 AM–2:00 PM. Shop at over 13 families' sales all in one place. Lunch is available, and proceeds contribute to WELCA.
Burrito Breakfast: On summer break; will resume on Rally Day, September 13th, and return to its normal first-Sunday schedule thereafter.
Good Shepherd Game Night: On hiatus for June, July, and August; resumes September 11th.
Small Groups & Support
Good Shepherd Men’s Group: Meets Sundays at 6:30 PM in the Mattes Center. Just show up or contact the office for details.
Good Shepherd Women (WELCA): Next meeting is Thursday, July 2nd at 6:00 PM, either on Zoom or in the Quilting Room. Call the office at (608) 788-0450 for the Zoom link.
Cancer Support Group: Offers adult cancer patients and caregivers a safe, confidential space. Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 5:00 PM in the Mattes Center. The next gathering will be July 21st.
Lydia Circle: On summer break; resumes September 1st.
Get Involved & Support
Quilting for LWR: We meet on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM in the quilting room. We hope to see you tomorrow, Monday, June 22nd! Quilt guidelines for sewing at home can be found at gslacrosse.org/quilters.
Volunteers Needed for Sunday Refreshments: Help is needed to bring treats (6-8 dozen) and/or serve/clean up after the 9:30 AM summer service. Sign-up sheets are in the Welcome Area. Confirmation Registration 2026-2027: Registration is now open! Confirmation begins Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 6:30 PM and runs through March 2027. Register online at gslacrosse.org/confirmation or contact Brea at breanna@gslacrosse.org.
2026-2027 Sunday School Registration: Sunday School begins September 13, 2026, taking place during the 8:30 AM service. Register online at gslacrosse.org/sunday-school or reach out to Brea Ellison.
Food For Schools Project: This month's featured fund stocks area school food banks. Scan the QR code in the bulletin or make checks payable to the church with "Food for Schools Project" in the memo line.
Media Team Members Needed: Volunteers needed to run the PowerPoint (8:30 & 10:30) and/or cameras (8:30). No experience needed. Contact Rick at Rick@gslacrosse.org or (608) 788-0450.
Other Announcements
Office Hours & Scrip Cards: Office hours are 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday–Friday. Kwik Trip Scrip cards are available for immediate purchase in the office during these hours, or visit the Scrip table in the welcome area to support the Youth Group.
Sunday Fellowship: Join us for coffee, treats, and fellowship in the welcome area following worship.
Church Library: Check out the reorganized church library located just past the Birch St. entrance on the left heading toward the Mattes Center.
Nursery: Available down the hall past the church offices if a break is needed during worship.
