Support a Student, Share Hope—Lutheran World Relief (LWR) Kits Needed!
Throughout the summer and back-to-school season, please consider donating items for Lutheran World Relief (LWR) School Kits and Personal Care Kits. These kits provide dignity and hope to children and families facing crisis around the world. By collecting and assembling kit supplies, our congregation can support LWR’s mission of sharing comfort and care with those in need.
For many children and families affected by poverty, conflict, or natural disaster, something as simple as a notebook or a towel can make a profound difference. School Kits open the door to education by equipping children with the basic tools they need to learn, while Personal Care Kits restore dignity and promote health during times of extreme hardship. This ministry allows us to extend God’s love in a practical, meaningful way—and reminds those in crisis that they are not forgotten. Every kit you donate becomes a message of compassion, hope, and solidarity.
School Kit Items Needed
Each School Kit equips a child to continue learning even in difficult situations. LWR’s guidelines list the following items for each School Kit :
One sturdy drawstring cloth backpack (to hold the supplies)
Four 70-sheet spiral notebooks (wide- or college-ruled)
One box of 16 or 24 crayons
One manual pencil sharpener
One 30-centimeter (12-inch) ruler, showing centimeters
One pair of blunt scissors (rounded tips)
Five unsharpened #2 pencils with erasers
Five blue or black ballpoint pens
One 2½-inch pink (or any color) eraser

Personal Care Kit Items Needed
Personal Care Kits bring essential self-care items to families. We especially need the following new items for each kit :
One dark-colored, lightweight bath-size towel (new)
Two bath-size bars of soap (total 8–9 oz; any brand, no mini/travel bars)
One adult-size toothbrush (in original, sealed packaging)
One sturdy comb (remove any packaging; medium- or wide-tooth recommended)
One metal nail clipper (remove packaging; either fingernail or toenail clipper)

Donations and Contact Information
Monetary gifts are also welcome – LWR’s Quilt & Kit Shipping Fund helps deliver kits worldwide. In fact, just $2.85 ships an entire School Kit, and $1.50 ships a Personal Care Kit to a community in need . (Feel free to donate and let us handle the shopping!) You can provide your check during a Sunday morning offering, or give it to our staff in the church office.
