Worship
Rally Sunday — September 7—We return to our regular two-service schedule at 8:30am & 10:30am. Sunday School kicks off during the 8:30 service.
This Sunday (September 7)—We worship on the Thirteenth Sunday after Pentecost with readings from Deuteronomy 30:15–20, Psalm 1, Philemon 1–21, and Luke 14:25–33. Communion will be served at both services.
Next Sunday (September 14)—We worship on the Fourteenth Sunday after Pentecost with readings from Exodus 32:7–14, Psalm 51:1–10, 1 Timothy 1:12–17, and Luke 15:1–10. Communion will not be served.
Gather & Celebrate
Burrito Breakfast — Today, September 7—Join us between services in the Mattes Center for a burrito breakfast while supplies last. Free-will offering.
Good Shepherd Men’s Group — Sundays at 6:30pm—Meets in the Mattes Center. All men welcome.
Family Game Night — Friday, September 12, 6:00–9:00pm—Come to the Choir Room for games, fun, and fellowship. All ages welcome!
Bunco Night — Friday, September 19, 6:00pm—Join us in the Mattes Center for an evening of Bunco. Bring a $5 wrapped “Fall”-themed gift. Ages 18+.
Annual WELCA Holiday Marketplace — Saturday, November 15, 9:00am–2:00pm—Featuring 23 vendors, 35 tables, pulled pork lunch for $7, and Norwegian lefse for sale!
Small Groups & Support
Quilting for LWR — Monday, September 8, 9:00am–3:00pm—Meet in the quilting room (2nd & 4th Mondays). Join for part or all of the day!
Cancer Support Group — Tuesday, September 16, 5:00pm—For patients and caregivers. Meets in the Mattes Center.
Grief Support Group — Thursday, September 11, 3:00pm—Meets on the 2nd & 4th Thursdays each month.
Good Shepherd Women (WELCA)—Next gathering: Thursday, October 2, at 6:00pm (Zoom or in-person).
Lydia Circle — Tuesday, October 7, 1:00pm—Meets in the Quilt Room for coffee, conversation, and community. All women welcome!
Get Involved & Support
General Fund—Support Good Shepherd through in-person or online giving.
Food For Schools Project—Help stock local school food banks with donations. Give via check (memo: “Food For Schools”) or online.
LWR Kits: Support a Student, Share Hope!—Donate notebooks, pens, crayons, towels, soap, toothbrushes, and more. Lists are available at the Stewardship table. Monetary gifts welcome.
Serve During Worship—Sign up to serve as a reader or usher at gslacrosse.org/participate or in the Welcome Area.
2025 Church Directories—If you purchased one, pick it up in the office. Extras available for $20.
Stay Connected
Sunday Fellowship—Coffee and conversation after worship in the Welcome Area.
Children & Sunday School—Children’s messages are part of the 8:30 service before heading to Sunday School.
Nursery—Available during worship down the hall past the church offices.
Confirmation Registration—Grades 6–8 can register at gslacrosse.org/confirmation. First class begins September 10.
Membership—New member orientation is held twice yearly. Contact the office for details.
