Welcome to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church! Here’s a roundup of all the latest news, events, and opportunities to connect and serve:

Worship

Summer Sunday Worship — We continue with one service at 9:30am (in person and livestreamed) through August 31.

Rally Sunday (September 7) — Our regular two-service schedule (8:30am & 10:30am) returns, with Sunday School kicking off during the 8:30 service.

This Sunday (August 31) — We worship on the Twelfth Sunday after Pentecost with readings from Proverbs 25:6–7, Psalm 112, Hebrews 13:1–8, 15–16, and Luke 14:1, 7–14. Communion will not be served.

Next Sunday (September 7) — We worship on the Thirteenth Sunday after Pentecost with readings from Deuteronomy 30:15–20, Psalm 1, Philemon 1–21, and Luke 14:25–33. Communion will be served at both services.

Gather & Celebrate

• Good Shepherd Men’s Group — Sundays at 6:30pm in the Mattes Center. All men welcome.

• Rally Sunday! — Sunday, September 7. Worship returns to 8:30am & 10:30am, and Sunday School kicks off with an inflatable obstacle course and fun activities during the 8:30 service.

• Burrito Breakfast — Sunday, September 7, between services in the Mattes Center. Free-will offering.

• Family Game Night — Friday, September 12, 6:00–9:00pm in the Mattes Center. All ages welcome.

• Bunco Night — Friday, September 19, 6:00pm in the Mattes Center. Bring a $5 wrapped “Fall”-themed gift. Ages 18+.

• Holiday Marketplace — Saturday, November 15, 9:00am–2:00pm. Featuring 23 vendors with 35 tables, a pulled pork lunch ($7), and lefse for sale!

Small Groups & Support

• Quilting for LWR — 2nd & 4th Mondays, 9:00am–3:00pm in the quilting room. Next gathering: Monday, September 8.

• Good Shepherd Women (WELCA) — Thursday, September 4, at 6:00pm (Zoom or in-person in the Welcome Area).

• Cancer Support Group — For patients and caregivers. Next gathering: Tuesday, September 16, 5:00pm, Mattes Center.

• Grief Support Group — Meets 2nd & 4th Thursdays at 3:00pm. Next gathering: September 11.

• Lydia Circle — Next gathering Tuesday, September 2, 1:00pm in the Quilt Room. All women welcome.

Get Involved & Support

• General Fund — Support Good Shepherd through in-person or online giving.

• Food For Schools Project — Donations support local school food banks. Give via check (memo: “Food For Schools”) or online.

• LWR Kits: Support a Student, Share Hope! — Donate notebooks, pens, rulers, crayons, towels, soap, toothbrushes, and more. Lists are at the Stewardship table. Monetary gifts also welcome.

• Serve During Worship — Sign up at gslacrosse.org/participate or in the Welcome Area to serve as a reader or usher.

• Support Our Youth Group — Purchase Scrip cards (including Kwik Trip) online, in the Welcome Area, or church office.

Stay Connected

• Sunday Fellowship — Coffee and conversation in the Welcome Area after worship.

• Church Directories — If you purchased a 2025 directory, pick it up in the office. Limited extras available for $20.

• Confirmation Registration — For grades 6–8. Register at gslacrosse.org/confirmation. Parent/guide orientation: September 3 at 6:30pm. First class: September 10.

• Sunday School Registration — For Pre-K–5th. Register at gslacrosse.org/sunday-school. Kickoff at Rally Sunday, September 7.

• Membership — New member orientation is held twice yearly. Contact the church office.
