Gather & Celebrate

  • Burrito Breakfast: Sunday, October 4, between services in the Mattes Center while supplies last. A free-will offering will be accepted.

  • Adult Reading Group: Wednesday, October 7, 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm. Discussion on Prayer in the Night by Tish Harrison Warren. Contact the church office for more information.

  • Family Game Night: Friday, October 9, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm in the Mattes Center. A mix of board games, card games, and more for everyone to enjoy.

  • Faith Webs Kickoff: Sunday, October 11. Faith Webs pairs youth with sponsor families to build connections across generations and support meaningful faith-forming experiences. Sponsor families are asked to contribute $300. Contact Stephanie at faithwebs@gslacrosse.org to learn more or get involved.

  • Bunco Night: Friday, October 16, at 6:00 pm in the Mattes Center. Open to ages 18 and up. Bring a $5 wrapped "Fall" themed gift.

  • Viterbo University Presentation: Thursday, October 22, at 7:00 pm at the Viterbo Fine Arts Center. Carl Wilkens (author of I'm Not Leaving) will be brought free of charge to share his experiences during the 1994 Rwandan genocide and discuss the importance of empathy. Contact Darryle Clott for details.

  • Trunk or Treat!: Saturday, October 24, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm in the parking lot. Decorated trunks, candy, and games for kids of all ages.

Support Groups

  • Cancer Support Group: Third Tuesday of the month. Next meeting: October 20 at 5:00 pm in the Mattes Center. Offers adult cancer patients and their caregivers a safe, confidential space to share feelings and experiences.

Women’s Ministries & Marketplace

  • Lydia Circle: Tuesday, October 6, at 1:00 pm in the Quilt Room. All women are welcome for coffee, friendly conversation, and delicious desserts.

  • Good Shepherd Women - WELCA: Thursday, November 5, at 6:00 pm in the Quilting Room or via Zoom (contact the office at 608-788-0450 for the link).

  • LWR Quilting: 2nd & 4th Mondays of the month from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm in the quilting room. Next meeting: Monday, October 12.

  • WELCA Marketplace Helpers Needed:

    • Lefse Donors: Sourcing a dozen good sized rounds of homemade lefse from 12 different families to be bagged and frozen for the holiday sale.

    • Holiday Treat Bakers: Cookies or any other Christmas specialties needed dropped off by noon on Friday, November 13.

Service & Volunteer Opportunities

  • Media Team Members Needed: Volunteers needed to run the PowerPoint and/or cameras at Sunday services. Contact Rick at rick@gslacrosse.org.

  • Drivers Needed: Volunteers needed with a little extra room in their vehicle to provide rides to church for members who lack transportation. Sign up in the back of church or use the QR code.

  • Financial Stewardship: Support the General Fund, which covers all operating expenses and church activities, or this month’s featured fund, the Food For Schools Project, which helps stock area school food banks.

  • New Member Orientation: Fall 2026 New Member Orientation & Celebration Dinner upcoming. Contact Sue at the church office (office@gslacrosse.org or 608-788-0450) if you are thinking about making Good Shepherd your church home.
