Worship

• This Sunday (October 12) — We worship on the Eighteenth Sunday after Pentecost with readings from 2 Kings 5:1–3, 7–15c; Psalm 111; 2 Timothy 2:8–15; and Luke 17:11–19. Communion will not be served at either service.

• Next Sunday (October 19) — We worship on the Nineteenth Sunday after Pentecost with readings from Genesis 32:22–31; Psalm 121; 2 Timothy 3:14–4:5; and Luke 18:1–8. Communion will be served at both services, and we’ll also celebrate the baptism of Josephine June Denstad at the 10:30am service.

Gather & Celebrate

• Bunco Night — Friday, October 17, 6:00 pm in the Mattes Center. Bring a $5 wrapped “Halloween”-themed gift and enjoy an evening of laughter and fellowship. Open to ages 18 and up.

• Trunk or Treat — Saturday, October 25, 3:00–5:00 pm in the Good Shepherd parking lot. Join us for decorated trunks, candy, and festive fun for all ages! Costumes encouraged. Invite friends and neighbours! Contact Brea Ellison at breanna@gslacrosse.org with questions.

• Burrito Breakfast — Sunday, November 2, between services in the Mattes Center. Enjoy burritos with all the fixings (or on a plate) while supplies last. A free-will offering will be collected.

• Family Game Night — Friday, November 14, 6:00–9:00 pm in the Mattes Center. Bring your friends and family for an evening of games and fun for all ages!

• Holiday Marketplace — Saturday, November 15, 9:00 am–2:00 pm. Shop from 23 vendors, enjoy a pulled pork lunch for $7, and take home delicious Norwegian lefse! Bakers Needed: Please sign up to donate baked goods on the church bulletin board and drop them off November 13–14 (Noon–5 pm).

Small Groups & Support

• Quilting for Lutheran World Relief — Monday, October 13, 9:00 am–3:00 pm in the quilting room. Come for all or part of the day! Quilters are also welcome to sew at home—guidelines are available at gslacrosse.org/quilters.

• Grief Support Group — Thursday, November 13, 3:00 pm. Meets monthly on the second Thursday to share and find comfort together.

• Cancer Support Group — Tuesday, October 21, 5:00 pm in the Mattes Center. A supportive space for cancer patients and caregivers.

• Lydia Circle — Tuesday, November 4, 1:00 pm in the Quilt Room. All women are welcome to join for coffee, dessert, and conversation.

• Good Shepherd Women (WELCA) — Thursday, November 6, 6:00 pm. Join in person or via Zoom. For the Zoom link, call the church office at (608) 788-0450 or email office@gslacrosse.org.

Get Involved & Support

• World Hunger Appeal — This Sunday, October 12. We are collecting donations for ELCA World Hunger relief. Please consider supporting this important mission—every gift makes a difference.

• Faith Webs Ministry — Build intergenerational connections while supporting youth attending camps, mission trips, or faith events. Email faithwebs@gslacrosse.org to participate as a youth or adult partner.

• Serve During Worship — Sign up to serve as a reader or usher at gslacrosse.org/participate or on the sheet in the Welcome Area.

• General Fund — Support Good Shepherd’s mission and ministry through in-person or online giving.

• Food For Schools Project — Help stock local school food pantries. Write “Food For Schools” in the memo line of your check or give online.
