Worship

  • Sunday, March 22 — Fifth Sunday in Lent — We worship today with readings from Ezekiel 37:1-14, Psalm 130, Romans 8:6-11, and John 11:1-45. Harald Bringsjord will preach , with music led by Randy Lyden, Karl Greenfield, and Dave Osley. Communion will not be served this Sunday. Worship is held at 8:30 am (livestreamed) and 10:30 am. First Communion Training is at 9:45 am.

  • Sunday, March 29 — Palm Sunday — Next Sunday we begin Holy Week with readings from Isaiah 50:4-9a, Psalm 31:9-16, Philippians 2:5-11, and Matthew 27:11-54. Harald Bringsjord will preach. Communion will be served at both the 8:30 am and 10:30 am services. Sunday School meets at 8:30 am.

Gather & Celebrate

  • Lenten Worship Services: Join us every Wednesday at 6:30 pm. Fellowship with coffee and treats follows at 7:30 pm in the Mattes Center.

  • Easter Garden: Help decorate our altar by dropping off a labeled potted plant by noon on Good Friday. You may take your plant home after the 10:30 am service on Easter Sunday.

  • Easter Breakfast: Join us Sunday, April 5th, from the end of the 7:00 am service until 10:15 am. A free-will offering will be accepted.

  • Family Game Night: All ages are welcome Friday, April 10th, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm in the Mattes Center.

  • Bunco Night: Adults 18+ are invited Friday, April 17th at 6:00 pm. Bring a $5 wrapped gift with a "St. Patrick's Day" theme.

Small Groups & Support

  • Good Shepherd Men’s Group: Meets Sundays at 6:30 pm in the Mattes Center.

  • Lydia Circle: All women are invited for coffee and conversation on Tuesday, April 7th at 1:00 pm in the Quilt Room.

  • Grief Support Group: Meets monthly on the 2nd Thursday; the next gathering is April 9th at 3:00 pm.

  • Good Shepherd Women (WELCA): Next meeting is Thursday, April 9th at 6:00 pm (In-person or Zoom). Officers include Lori Lowell (President) and Sue Bugge (Vice President).

  • Cancer Support Group: Offers a safe space for patients and caregivers on the third Tuesday of each month at 5:00 pm; the next meeting is April 21st.

Get Involved & Support

  • Quilting for LWR: Join us Monday, March 23rd, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm in the quilting room.

  • Food For Schools Project: This month's featured fund helps stock area school food banks.

  • Media Team: Volunteers are needed to run PowerPoint or cameras for Sunday services. No experience is necessary; contact Rick at rick@gslacrosse.org.

  • Call Committee: The committee is gathering congregational input to complete the synod profile. Contact members like Tom Andersen or Todd Fergot with questions.

Other Announcements

  • Funeral for Larry Smith: Visitation is Saturday, March 28th at 9:00 am, followed by the funeral at 10:30 am and a luncheon.

  • Scholarships: Applications for technical or 4-year undergraduate degrees are due by April 1st.

  • Sunday Fellowship: Enjoy coffee in the welcome area following worship services.

  • Office Hours: The church office is open 8:00 am – 1:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
