Welcome to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church!

Here’s a roundup of all the latest news, events, and opportunities to connect and serve:

Worship

• Summer Sunday Worship: We’re holding one Sunday service at 9:30am (in person and livestreamed) through August 31.

• This Sunday’s Worship (July 6): We worship together on the Fourth Sunday after Pentecost with readings from Isaiah 66, Galatians 6, and Luke 10. Communion is served this Sunday.

Gather and Celebrate

• Good Shepherd Men’s Group: Meets Sundays at 6:30pm. All men are welcome to attend.

• Bunco Night: Friday, July 18 at 6:00pm in the Choir Room. Bring a $5 wrapped gift (theme: “Summer”) for a fun-filled evening of games and laughter. Ages 18+. Contact the church office for more info.

• Rummage Sale: Good Shepherd WELCA’s annual rummage sale is Saturday, July 19 from 9am–2pm in the Mattes Center.

  • Rent a table for just $10 and keep your earnings

  • Set-up: Friday, 12–5pm and Saturday, 8–9am

  • Lunch: Hot beef sandwich, chips, dessert, and drink for $7

  • Sign-up forms available in the church office or by email

• Ladies Ice Cream Social: Sunday, July 27 from 2–4pm in the Mattes Center. Build-your-own sundaes, games, prizes, and cool conversation. All women welcome!

Small Groups and Support

• Quilting for Lutheran World Relief (LWR): Meets the 2nd & 4th Mondays, 9am–3pm in the quilting room. Come for all or part of the day. Next meeting: July 14.

• Cancer Support Group: For patients and caregivers. Meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 5pm in the Mattes Center. Next meeting: July 15.

• Dementia Support Group: Meets Tuesday, July 8 at 1:15pm.

• Good Shepherd Women (WELCA): Next meeting is Thursday, August 7 at 6pm in person or via Zoom. All women of the church are invited.

• Game Night: On summer break. Returns Thursday, September 12.

Get Involved and Support

• General Fund: Support the ministry of Good Shepherd through online or in-person donations. Give online now.

• Food For Schools Project: Help stock local school food banks. Donate via check (memo line: “Food For Schools Project”) or scan the QR code in the bulletin.

• Lutheran World Relief Kits: We’re collecting supplies for School and Personal Care Kits. Item lists are on the Stewardship table. Monetary donations also welcome. Learn more on this webpage.

• Support Our Youth Group: Buy Scrip cards in the welcome area or church office (Mon–Fri, 8am–1pm). Kwik Trip cards always available.

Stay Connected

• Sunday Fellowship: Join us for coffee and fellowship in the welcome area after worship.

• Membership: Interested in joining? New member orientation happens twice a year. Contact the church office for details.
