Here’s a roundup of all the latest news, events, and opportunities to connect and serve:

Worship

• Summer Sunday Worship:
  We continue with one worship service at 9:30am (in person and livestreamed) through August 31.

• This Sunday’s Worship (July 27): We worship on the Seventh Sunday after Pentecost with readings from Genesis 18:20–32, Psalm 138, Colossians 2:6–15, and Luke 11:1–13. Communion will not be served.

• Preaching: Pastor John Stennes-Spidahl

• Music: Randy Lyden, Karl Greenfield, Dave Osley

  Next Sunday (August 3): Worship continues at 9:30am. Communion will be served. Readings: Ecclesiastes 1:2, 12–14; 2:18–23, Psalm 49:1–12, Colossians 3:1–11, Luke 12:13–21.

Gather and Celebrate

• Ladies Ice Cream Social is this Sunday, July 27 from 2–4pm in the Mattes Center: All women are invited for build-your-own sundaes, games, prizes, and cool conversation.

  Good Shepherd Men’s Group: Meets Sundays at 6:30pm in the Mattes Center. All men welcome.

• National Night Out is Tuesday, August 5 from 5–7pm: Join us at Good Shepherd for a community celebration with the City of La Crosse and the Hintgen Neighborhood Association! Connect with neighbors, enjoy games, food, and meet local safety officials.

• Bunco Night is Friday, August 15 at 6:00pm in the Mattes Center: Bring a $5 wrapped gift (theme: "Anything Goes") and enjoy games, laughter, and good company. Ages 18+.

• Vacation Bible School is August 10–14 from 5:45–7:30pm: Optional supper begins at 5:15pm. Explore the 7 Days of Creation through stories, crafts, and games! Register on the Sunday School board or online: vbs2025.gslacrosse.org

Small Groups and Support

• Quilting for Lutheran World Relief (LWR): Meets the 2nd & 4th Mondays, 9am–3pm in the quilting room. Come for all or part of the day. Next meeting: July 28.

• Cancer Support Group: For patients and caregivers. Meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 5pm in the Mattes Center. Next meeting: August 19.

• Good Shepherd Women (WELCA): Next meeting is Thursday, August 7 at 6pm in person or via Zoom. All women of the church are invited.

• Game Night: On summer break. Returns Friday, September 12.

Get Involved and Support

• General Fund: Support the ministry of Good Shepherd through online or in-person donations. Give online now.

• Food For Schools Project: Help stock local school food banks. Donate via check (memo line: “Food For Schools Project”) or scan the QR code in the bulletin.

• Lutheran World Relief Kits: We’re collecting supplies for School and Personal Care Kits. Item lists are on the Stewardship table. Monetary donations also welcome. Learn more on this webpage. Top need are s: notebooks, pens, rulers, towels, soap, toothbrushes.

• Support Our Youth Group: Buy Scrip cards in the welcome area or church office (Mon–Fri, 8am–1pm). Kwik Trip cards always available.

Stay Connected

• Sunday Fellowship: Join us for coffee and fellowship in the welcome area after worship.

• Membership: Interested in joining? New member orientation happens twice a year. Contact the church office for details.

• Church Directory Photos Available: If you had photos taken for the new directory, pick them up in the church office.
