Worship

Summer Sunday Worship
We continue with one worship service at 9:30am (in person and livestreamed) through August 31.

This Sunday (August 3):
We worship on the Eighth Sunday after Pentecost with readings from Ecclesiastes 1:2, 12–14; 2:18–23, Psalm 49:1–12, Colossians 3:1–11, and Luke 12:13–21. Communion will be served.

Next Sunday (August 10):
Worship continues at 9:30am with readings from Genesis 15:1–6, Psalm 33:12–22, Hebrews 11:1–3, 8–16, and Luke 12:32–40. Communion will not be served.

Gather and Celebrate

• Good Shepherd Men’s Group
  Meets Sundays at 6:30pm in the Mattes Center. All men welcome.

• National Night Out — Tuesday, August 5, 5–7pm at Good Shepherd.
  A community celebration with the City of La Crosse and the Hintgen Neighborhood Association! Connect with neighbors, enjoy games, food, and meet local safety officials.

• WELCA Meeting — Thursday, August 7 at 6pm • In person & Zoom.

• Vacation Bible School
  📅 August 10–14 from 5:45–7:30pm (supper at 5:15pm).
  Theme: The 7 Days of Creation with stories, crafts, and games. Register on the Sunday School board or online: vbs2025.gslacrosse.org

• Bunco Nigh — Friday, August 15 at 6:00pm in the Mattes Center.
  Bring a $5 wrapped gift (theme: “Anything Goes”) and enjoy laughter, games, and fellowship. Ages 18+.

Small Groups and Support

• Quilting for Lutheran World Relief (LWR)—Meets the 2nd & 4th Mondays, 9am–3pm in the quilting room. Come for all or part of the day. Next meeting: Monday, August 11.

• Cancer Support Group—For patients and caregivers. Meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 5pm in the Mattes Center. Next meeting: August 19.

• Game Night—On summer break. Returns Thursday, September 12.

Get Involved and Support

• General Fund—Support the ministry of Good Shepherd through online or in-person donations.

• Food For Schools Project—Help stock local school food banks. Donate via check (memo line: “Food For Schools Project”) or online.

• Lutheran World Relief Kits—We’re collecting supplies for School and Personal Care Kits. Top needs include: notebooks, pens, rulers, scissors, crayons, towels, soap, and toothbrushes. Item lists are on the Stewardship table. Monetary donations also welcome.

• Support Our Youth Group—Buy Scrip cards online, in the welcome area or church office (Mon–Fri, 8am–1pm). Kwik Trip cards always available.

Stay Connected

• Sunday Fellowship—Join us for coffee and fellowship in the Welcome Area after worship.

• Membership—Interested in joining? New member orientation happens twice a year. Contact the church office for details.

• Church Directory Photos Available—If you had photos taken for the new directory, pick them up in the church office.

• Confirmation Registration—Youth entering grades 6–8 can now register at gslacrosse.org/confirmation. First session: Wednesday, September 10 at 6:30pm (with parent/student orientation).

• Sunday School Registration + Rally Sunday—Register kids Pre-K through 5th grade at gslacrosse.org/sunday-school.
  Kickoff: Sunday, September 7 during the 8:30am worship service with breakfast burritos and activities for all ages.
