Worship

  • Sunday, February 8 — Fifth Sunday after Epiphany We worship this Sunday on the Fifth Sunday after Epiphany with readings from Isaiah 58:1–9a, Psalm 112:1–9, 1 Corinthians 2:1–12, and Matthew 5:13–20. Pastor Harald Bringsjord will preach, with music led by Randy Lyden, Karl Greenfield, and Dave Osley. Communion will not be served this Sunday. Worship will be held at 8:30 and 10:30 am, with the 8:30 am service livestreamed. Sunday School meets at 8:30 am.

  • Sunday, February 15 — LuMin Sunday Next Sunday we continue the season of Epiphany with readings from Exodus 24:9-18, Psalm 23, 2 Peter 1:16-21, and Mark 4:26-32. Katheryn Thompson will preach, with music led by Randy Lyden, Karl Greenfield, and Dave Osley. Communion will be served next Sunday. Worship will be held at 8:30 and 10:30 am, with Sunday School at 8:30 am.

Gather & Celebrate

  • Family Game Night — Friday, February 13, 6:00–9:00 pm, Mattes Center All ages are welcome for an evening of board games, card games, and fun together as a church community.

  • Bunco Night — Friday, February 20, 6:00 pm, Mattes Center Adults 18+ are invited for an evening of Bunco, laughter, and fellowship. Please bring a $5 wrapped gift with a "Valentines" theme.

  • Winter Choir Festival — Sunday, February 22, 4:00 pm, Trinity Lutheran Church Join the La Crosse Area Synod for an afternoon of music featuring Good Shepherd’s Sanctuary Choir. Admission is free.

  • Burrito Breakfast — Sunday, March 1, between services, Mattes Center Join us for a burrito breakfast with all the fixings between worship services. A freewill offering will be accepted while supplies last.

Small Groups & Support

  • Dementia Support Group — Tuesday, February 10, 1:15 pm A support group meeting for those navigating dementia-related challenges.

  • Grief Support Group — Thursday, February 12, 3:00 pm A caring and understanding group offering a space to share, listen, and find comfort together.

  • Cancer Support Group — Tuesday, February 17, 5:00 pm, Mattes Center A safe, confidential space for adult cancer patients and caregivers to share feelings and experiences.

  • Good Shepherd Men’s Group — Sundays, 6:30 pm, Mattes Center Our men's group meets weekly for conversation and fellowship. Simply show up or contact the church office for more information.

  • Lydia Circle — Tuesday, March 3, 1:00 pm, Quilt Room All women are invited for coffee, delicious desserts, and friendly conversation.

  • Good Shepherd Women (WELCA) — Thursday, March 5, 6:00 pm Join in person in the Quilting Room or via Zoom. Contact the office for the Zoom link.

Get Involved & Support

  • Quilting for Lutheran World Relief — Monday, February 9, 9:00 am–3:00 pm, Quilting Room Help create quilts for Lutheran World Relief. Join for part or all of the day—whatever fits your schedule.

  • Food for Schools Project Support local school food banks by donating online via the QR code or by check made payable to the church (memo: “Food for Schools Project”).

  • 2026 Offering Envelopes Envelopes are available on the table in the hallway near the office. Contact the church office if you were not issued envelopes but would like some.

  • Reading & Ushering Sign-Up You can now sign up online at gslacrosse.org/participate or use the sign-up sheet in the Welcome Area to serve as a reader or usher.

  • Media Team Members Needed Help run the PowerPoint or cameras during Sunday services. No experience is needed, and training is provided. Contact Rick or the church office to help.

Other Announcements

  • Annual Congregational Meeting — Sunday, February 8, 12:00 pm, Mattes Center All active members are invited as we review 2025, elect new council members, and vote on items for 2026, including the budget.

  • Sunday Fellowship Join us for coffee and fellowship in the welcome area following worship services.

  • Good Shepherd Scholarships Members pursuing technical or 4-year undergraduate degrees are invited to apply for scholarships by April 1st.

  • Church Rummage Sale The annual sale will be held July 18th. Reservation forms for tables are available in the office or welcome area.
