Worship

  • Sunday, February 22 — First Sunday in Lent We worship this Sunday with readings from Genesis 2:15-17; 3:1-7, Psalm 32, Romans 5:12-19, and Matthew 4:1-11. Harald Bringsjord will preach, with music led by Randy Lyden, Karl Greenfield, and Dave Osley. Communion will not be served this Sunday. Worship will be held at 8:30 and 10:30 am, with the 8:30 am service livestreamed. Sunday School meets at 8:30 am.

  • Sunday, March 1 — Second Sunday in Lent Next Sunday we continue the season of Lent with readings from Genesis 12:1-4a, Psalm 121, Romans 4:1-5, 13-17, and John 3:1-17. Harald Bringsjord will preach, with music led by Randy Lyden, Karl Greenfield, and Dave Osley. Communion will be served next Sunday. Worship will be held at 8:30 and 10:30 am, with Sunday School at 8:30 am.

Gather & Celebrate

  • Winter Choir Festival — Sunday, February 22, 4:00 pm, Trinity Lutheran Church: Join the La Crosse Area Synod for an afternoon of music. The event is held at 1010 Sill Street; admission is free.

  • Faith Webs Potluck — Thursday, February 26, 5:30 pm, Mattes Center: All participants are invited for a potluck dinner. Contact Stephanie Andersen for more information.

  • Burrito Breakfast — Sunday, March 1, 9:30 am, Mattes Center: Join us for a burrito breakfast with all the fixings between worship services. A free will offering will be accepted while supplies last.

  • Family Game Night — Friday, March 13, 6:00–9:00 pm, Mattes Center: All ages are welcome for an evening of board games, card games, and fun together as a church community.

  • Bunco Night — Friday, March 20, 6:00 pm, Mattes Center: Adults 18+ are invited for an evening of laughter and games. Please bring a $5 wrapped gift with a "St. Patrick's Day" theme.

Small Groups & Support

  • Good Shepherd Men’s Group — Sundays, 6:30 pm, Mattes Center: The group will not meet on February 22 but will resume its weekly schedule on March 1.

  • Lydia Circle — Tuesday, March 3, 1:00 pm, Quilt Room: All women are invited for coffee, delicious desserts, and friendly conversation.

  • Good Shepherd Women (WELCA) — Thursday, March 5, 6:00 pm: Join in person in the Quilting Room or via Zoom. Contact the office for the Zoom link.

  • Grief Support Group — Thursday, March 12, 3:00 pm: A caring and understanding group offering a space to share, listen, and find comfort together.

  • Cancer Support Group — Tuesday, March 17, 5:00 pm, Mattes Center: A safe, confidential space for adult cancer patients and caregivers to share feelings and experiences.

Get Involved & Support

  • Quilting for Lutheran World Relief — Monday, February 23, 9:00 am–3:00 pm, Quilting Room: Help create quilts for LWR. Join for part or all of the day—whatever fits your schedule.

  • Food for Schools Project — Support local school food banks by donating online via the QR code or by check made payable to the church with "Food for Schools Project" in the memo line.

  • Media Team Members Needed — Help run the PowerPoint or cameras during Sunday services. No experience is needed, and training is provided. Contact Rick at Rick@gslacrosse.org to help.

  • Call Committee Update — The committee is seeking congregational input via surveys to complete the church profile for pastoral recruitment. Contact committee members like Tom Andersen or Todd Fergot with questions.

Other Announcements

  • Lenten Worship Services — Wednesdays, 6:30 pm: Join us for Lenten worship followed by coffee, desserts, and fellowship at 7:30 pm in the Mattes Center.

  • Sunday Fellowship — Join us for coffee and fellowship in the welcome area following worship services.

  • Good Shepherd Scholarships — Members pursuing technical or 4-year undergraduate degrees are invited to apply for scholarships by April 1st.

  • Church Rummage Sale — The annual sale will be held July 18th from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Reservation forms for tables are available in the office or welcome area.
