Worship

  • Sunday, April 5 — Easter Sunday — Today we celebrate the Resurrection with readings from Acts 10:34-43 , Psalm 118:1-2, 14-24 , Colossians 3:1-4 , and John 20:1-18. Harald Bringsjord will preach , with music led by Randy Lyden, Karl Greenfield, and Dave Osley. Communion will be served at the 7:00am, 8:30am, and 10:30am worship services. There is no Sunday School today.

  • Sunday, April 12 — Next Sunday we worship with readings from Acts 2:14a, 22-32 , Psalm 16 , 1 Peter 1:3-9 , and John 20:19-31. Harald Bringsjord will preach. Communion will not be served next Sunday. Worship is held at 8:30am (livestreamed) and 10:30am. Sunday School meets at 8:30am.

Gather & Celebrate

  • Easter Breakfast: Join us today, Sunday, April 5th, beginning after the 7:00am service and serving until 10:15am. A variety of breakfast items and beverages will be served and a free-will offering will be accepted.

  • Family Game Night: All ages are welcome Friday, April 10th, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm in the Mattes Center for board games, cards, and fellowship.

  • Bunco Night: Adults 18+ are invited Friday, April 17th at 6:00pm in the Mattes Center. Bring a $5 wrapped gift with an "Easter" theme.

Small Groups & Support

  • Good Shepherd Men’s Group: Meets Sundays at 6:30pm in the Mattes Center.

  • Lydia Circle: All women are invited for coffee, desserts, and conversation on Tuesday, April 7th at 1:00pm in the Choir Room.

  • Grief Support Group: Meets monthly on the 2nd Thursday; the next gathering is Thursday, April 9th at 3:00pm.

  • Good Shepherd Women (WELCA): The next meeting is Thursday, April 9th at 6:00pm in person in the Quilting Room or via Zoom. Officers include President Lori Lowell, Vice President Sue Bugge, Treasurer LeeAnn Lyden, and Secretary Sally Lindahl.

  • Cancer Support Group: Offers a safe space for patients and caregivers on the third Tuesday of each month at 5:00pm in the Mattes Center ; the next meeting is April 21st.

Get Involved & Support

  • Quilting for LWR: Join us Monday, April 13th, from 9:00am to 3:00pm in the quilting room to create quilts for Lutheran World Relief.

  • Food For Schools Project: This month’s featured fund helps stock area school food banks.

  • Media Team: Volunteers are needed to run PowerPoint for the 8:30am and 10:30am services, or cameras at 8:30am. No experience is necessary; contact Rick at rick@gslacrosse.org.

  • Call Committee: The committee is gathering congregational input via surveys and questions to complete the synod profile for recruiting a new pastor. Contact the office with questions.

  • Ushers and Readers: Volunteers are needed to fill in for worship services. Contact Sue at sue@gslacrosse.org or sign up on the bulletin board.

Other Announcements

  • Sunday Fellowship: Enjoy coffee and fellowship in the welcome area following worship.

  • Office Hours: The church office is open 8:00am – 1:00pm, Monday through Friday.

  • Scrip Cards: Support the Youth Group by purchasing Kwik Trip or other Scrip cards at the church office or the welcome area table.
