About this Sunday:
On the 15th Sunday after Pentecost, the readings call believers to live a faith that springs from the heart. From the Song of Solomon, we hear a vision of love and new life breaking into the world. James reminds us that every good gift is from God and that true religion is lived out by doing God’s word—especially in caring for the most vulnerable. In Mark’s Gospel, Jesus warns against elevating human traditions above God’s commands and teaches that what defiles comes from within, not from outward things. Together, these passages invite us to let God’s love shape our hearts and actions.
