Worship

  • Sunday, May 10 — Sixth Sunday of Easter and Mother's Day — Today we celebrate with readings from Acts 17:22-31, Psalm 66:8-20, 1 Peter 3:13-22, and John 14:15-21. Harald Bringsjord will preach, with music led by Randy Lyden, Karl Greenfield, and Dave Osley. Communion will not be served today. Worship is held at 8:30am (livestreamed) and 10:30am. Sunday School meets at 8:30am.

  • Sunday, May 17 — Education Sunday — Next Sunday we worship with readings from Acts 1:6-14, Psalm 68:1-10, 32-35, 1 Peter 4:12-14; 5:6-11, and John 17:1-11. Harald Bringsjord will preach. Communion will be served next Sunday. Worship is held at 8:30am and 10:30am. Sunday School meets at 8:30am.

Gather & Celebrate

  • Bunco Night: Adults 18+ are invited Friday, May 15th at 6:00pm in the Mattes Center. Bring a $5 wrapped gift with a "Spring" theme.

  • Burrito Breakfast: Our breakfast crew is taking a summer break and will return on Rally Day, September 13.

  • Good Shepherd Game Night: Game Night is on a summer break for June, July, and August, but will resume on September 11th.

Small Groups & Support

  • Good Shepherd Men’s Group: Meets Sundays at 6:30pm in the Mattes Center.

  • Cancer Support Group: Offers a safe space for adult patients and caregivers on the third Tuesday of each month at 5:00pm in the Mattes Center; the next gathering is May 19th.

  • Lydia Circle: Will not meet during June, July, or August, but will resume on September 1st.

  • Good Shepherd Women (WELCA): The next meeting is Thursday, June 4th at 6:00pm, available in person in the Quilting Room or via Zoom.

  • Grief Support Group: This group has disbanded and will no longer be meeting.

  • New Adult Reading Group: A new book club is starting to connect and explore faith-based stories. Contact Sue at office@gslacrosse.org by May 15th to join or help organize.

  • Dementia Support Group: Meets Tuesday, May 12th at 1:15pm.

  • Altar Guild Meeting: Meets Monday, May 11th at 6:00pm for members and anyone interested in joining.

Get Involved & Support

  • Quilting for LWR: Join us Monday, May 11th, from 9:00am to 3:00pm in the quilting room to create quilts for Lutheran World Relief.

  • Food For Schools Project: This month’s featured fund helps stock area school food banks. Please make checks payable to the church with "Food for Schools Project" in the memo line.

  • Media Team: Volunteers are needed to run PowerPoint for both services or cameras at the 8:30am service. No experience is necessary; contact Rick at Rick@gslacrosse.org or (608) 788-0450.

  • Call Committee: The committee is gathering congregational input via surveys and questions over the next few months to complete a profile on the Synod website for recruiting a new pastor.

  • Readers And Ushers Needed: Sign up using the sheet in the Welcome Area or online at gslacrosse.org/participate.

Other Announcements

  • Sunday Fellowship: Join us for coffee and fellowship in the welcome area following worship.

  • Office Hours: The church office is open 8:00am – 1:00pm, Monday through Friday.

  • Scrip Cards: Support the Youth Group by purchasing Kwik Trip cards directly in the church office, or by visiting the Scrip card table in the welcome area.

  • Church Library: Resources have been reorganized by our church librarian, Ann Keuper, and are available just past the Birch St. entrance.
