Worship
Sunday, March 8 — Third Sunday in Lent We worship this Sunday with readings from Exodus 17:1-7, Psalm 95, Romans 5:1-11, and John 4:5-42. Harald Bringsjord will preach , with music led by Randy Lyden, Karl Greenfield, and Dave Osley. Communion will not be served this Sunday. Worship will be held at 8:30 and 10:30 am , with the 8:30 am service livestreamed. Sunday School meets at 8:30 am.
Sunday, March 15 — Fourth Sunday in Lent Next Sunday we continue the season of Lent with readings from 1 Samuel 16:1-13, Psalm 23, Ephesians 5:8-14, and John 9:1-41. Harald Bringsjord will preach , with music led by Randy Lyden, Karl Greenfield, and Dave Osley. Communion will be served next Sunday. Worship will be held at 8:30 and 10:30 am , with Sunday School at 8:30 am.
Gather & Celebrate
Lenten Worship Services — Wednesdays, 6:30 pm: Join in our Lenten worship services every Wednesday at 6:30 pm. There will be fellowship time following the service with treats and coffee in the Mattes Center at 7:30 pm.
Family Game Night — Friday, March 13, 6:00–9:00 pm, Mattes Center: All ages are welcome for an evening of fun and fellowship featuring board games and card games.
Bunco Night — Friday, March 20, 6:00 pm, Mattes Center: Adults 18 and up are invited for an evening of laughter and games. Please bring a $5 wrapped gift with a "St. Patrick's Day" theme.
Easter Garden Contributions: We are planning an Easter Garden around the altar. If you would like to contribute a potted plant, please drop it off at church by noon on Good Friday with your name on it. Plants may be taken home after the 10:30 am service on Easter Sunday.
Easter Breakfast — Sunday, April 5: Join us for breakfast starting after the 7:00 am service until 10:15 am. A variety of items and beverages will be served, and a free will offering will be accepted.
Small Groups & Support
Good Shepherd Men’s Group — Sundays, 6:30 pm, Mattes Center: The group meets weekly to provide fellowship; simply show up or contact the office for more info.
Dementia Support Group — Tuesday, March 10, 1:15 pm: This group meets to provide support and resources.
Grief Support Group — Thursday, March 12, 3:00 pm: This group meets monthly on the 2nd Thursday to offer a caring, understanding space to share and find comfort together.
Cancer Support Group — Tuesday, March 17, 5:00 pm, Mattes Center: A safe, confidential space for adult cancer patients and caregivers to share experiences.
Lydia Circle — Tuesday, April 7, 1:00 pm, Quilt Room: All women are welcome for friendly conversation, coffee, and delicious desserts.
Good Shepherd Women (WELCA) — Thursday, April 9, 6:00 pm: Join in person in the Quilting Room or via Zoom; contact the office for the Zoom link.
Get Involved & Support
Quilting for Lutheran World Relief — Monday, March 9, 9:00 am–3:00 pm, Quilting Room: Help create quilts for LWR; join for the whole time or just part of the day.
Food for Schools Project: Support local school food banks by scanning the QR code in the bulletin to donate to this month's featured fund.
Media Team Members Needed: Help run the PowerPoint (8:30 & 10:30) or cameras (8:30) during Sunday services. No experience is needed. Contact Rick at rick@gslacrosse.org to help.
Call Committee Update: The committee is seeking congregational input via questions and surveys to complete the church profile for pastoral recruitment. Contact committee members such as Tom Andersen or Todd Fergot with questions.
Other Announcements
Sunday Fellowship: Join us for coffee and fellowship in the welcome area following worship.
Good Shepherd Scholarships: Members pursuing technical or 4-year undergraduate degrees are invited to apply by April 1st. Application materials are available in the welcome area or on the website.
Funeral Sympathies: We extend sympathies to the family of Millie Hamann, who passed away Feb 24th. Her funeral will be held at Good Shepherd on March 21st at 11:00 am, with visitation starting at 10:00 am.
