Worship
Sunday, July 19 — Eighth Sunday after Pentecost: Worship takes place at 9:30 am. Pastor Harald Bringsjord will be preaching, and music will be led by Randy Lyden (organist/pianist), Karl Greenfield (cantor), and Dave Osley (percussionist). Readings include Isaiah 44:6-8, Psalm 86:11-17, Romans 8:12-25, and Matthew 13:24-30, 36-43. Communion will be served this Sunday.
Next Sunday, July 26: Worship will begin at 9:30 am. Pr. Harald Bringsjord will be preaching, and music will be led by Randy Lyden, Karl Greenfield, and Dave Osley. Readings include 1 Kings 3:5-12, Psalm 119:129-136, Romans 8:26-39, and Matthew 13:31-33, 44-52. Communion will not be served this Sunday.
Summer Worship Schedule: We offer a 9:30 am Worship Service and Livestream. Communion is celebrated on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month, and all are welcome. Communion kits are available upon request from an usher for in-pew communion.

Vacation Bible School 2026 (The Wild West): VBS is happening August 2nd–6th for all children ages 4 years old through 5th grade. The event runs from 5:45 pm to 7:30 pm each evening, with a free-will offering supper from 5:15 pm–5:45 pm. Bunco Night: Our next Bunco evening is happening Friday, August 21st at 6:00 pm in the Mattes Center. Bring a $5 wrapped gift with an "Anything Goes" theme and join us for laughter, games, and great company (open to ages 18 and up).
Annual WELCA Ice Cream Social: All women of Good Shepherd are invited on Sunday, July 26 in the Mattes Center. This year's theme will be about the beautiful state of Hawaii—please feel free to wear any Hawaiian attire or bright colors, including Hawaiian leis (extra leis will be available while supplies last). Please arrive between 1:45 pm and 2:00 pm to register for a door prize, to figure out your guesses for the Guessing Jars, to check out the Hawaiian decorations, and to take pictures by the Hawaiian photo area. The program will begin at 2:00 pm with interesting facts about Hawaii, a couple of games where you can win a prize, and Bingo followed up by making your own sundaes. Adult Reading Group: Good Shepherd Adult Reading Group will have an organizational meeting Sunday, August 2nd after church, approximately 10:45 am in the library. Please join us if you are interested.

Church Council: Meets Tuesday, July 21st at 7:00 pm.
Good Shepherd Women (WELCA): We invite you to join us at our next meeting on Thursday, August 6th at 6:00 pm, either on Zoom or in person in the Quilting Room. If you are interested in the Zoom link please call the office (608) 788-0450.
Cancer Support Group: Offers adult cancer patients and their caregivers a safe, confidential space to share feelings and experiences with others who understand the challenges cancer brings. Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 5:00 pm in the Mattes Center. Our next gathering will be on July 21st.
Get Involved & Support
Quilting for LWR: Join us in creating quilts for Lutheran World Relief! We meet on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm in the quilting room. Come for the whole time or just part of the day. We hope to see you on Monday, July 27th! If you'd prefer to sew at home, quilt guidelines can be found at gslacrosse.org/quilters.
Volunteers Needed for Sunday Refreshments: Members can volunteer to bring treats (6-8 dozen cookies, cupcakes, muffins, etc. homemade or purchased) and/or serve (includes making coffee, lemonade), and/or clean-up. You can sign up to bring treats or serve or clean-up or all three. Sign up sheets are in the Welcome Area (at the back of the sanctuary). 2026-2027 Sunday School Registration: Sunday School takes place during the 8:30 am worship service, and begins on September 13th, 2026, and will continue through the middle of May 2027. Confirmation Registration 2026-2027: Registration is open! Help your child deepen their faith, build lasting friendships, and grow in their relationship with God through our Confirmation program. Help Feed Area Children - Food For Schools Project: Scan the QR code in the bulletin to donate to this month's featured fund, the Food For Schools Project, which helps stock area school food banks.
General Fund: Scan the QR code in the bulletin to easily make a donation to our General Fund which covers all of our operating expenses and church activities.
LWR School Kits and Personal Care Kits: As you are doing your back-to-school shopping, please consider helping us collect items for LWR School and Personal Care kits. Notebooks (70 count spiral), ballpoint pens (black or blue), rulers (cm on one side), BLUNT scissors, Crayons (16 or 24 count), pencil sharpeners, unsharpened No. 2 pencils, and 2 1/2 inch pink erasers are top priority needs for school kits. Darker bath towels, bars of soap (4 oz size), toothbrushes and large nail clippers are priority for Personal Care Kits. Lists can be found on the Stewardship table. Monetary donations are also appreciated and we can do the shopping. Questions? Contact Linda Schoen.
Media Team Members Needed: We need a few people to help with our Sunday services by running the PowerPoint and/or running the cameras at our services. No experience is needed. Please contact Rick if you are interested at rick@gslacrosse.org.
