Music Ministry
Welcome to the Music Department!
Dear Good Shepherd Music Ministry Members,
Are you new to Good Shepherd? Welcome—we’re so glad you’re here! Whether you’re a long-time musician or just beginning your journey in worship music, we’re excited to have you join us in lifting hearts and voices in praise.
Our music ministry pages contains helpful information for all involved in music at Good Shepherd, especially those participating in choirs, ensembles, or instrumental groups. Inside, you’ll find details about rehearsals, service schedules, expectations, music selections, special worship events, and how to get involved.
Can’t find what you’re looking for? Please don’t hesitate to reach out! You can contact our Director of Music, Randy Lyden, at randy@gslacrosse.org, or speak with any of our pastoral or music staff after worship.
Let’s make a joyful noise together and support one another in faith and fellowship.
We’re looking forward to a meaningful and music-filled year!
In Christ,

Everyone is welcome! Whether you’re a seasoned musician or simply enjoy singing or playing an instrument, there’s a place for you in our music ministry.
-
We offer several opportunities, including the Sanctuary Choir, Bell Choir, Sounds of Praise Worship Band, and Youth Choir, as well as seasonal ensembles. We also welcome instrumentalists for special services.
-
Most rehearsals take place on Saturday evenings or Sunday mornings between worship services, depending on the group. A full rehearsal schedule is shared at the start of each season.
-
No! While reading music is helpful, it is not required. We welcome all skill levels and provide support and guidance to help you participate with confidence.
-
Each group is scheduled to lead worship every few weeks, depending on the liturgical season. We also have special performances for Christmas, Easter, and other holy days.
-
Absolutely! We offer a youth choir and always welcome young instrumentalists and singers. Let us know your child’s interests and we’ll help them get involved.
-
Contact our Director of Music, Randy Lyden, at randy@gslacrosse.org, or speak to our music staff after worship.
-
That’s okay! We welcome flexible involvement. Many members participate seasonally or on a rotating basis. Let us know your availability, and we’ll find the right fit for you.
